Carbon Reducing Plastic Incinerator using Cold Plasma Pyrolysis: A Hybrid Machine

One of the major problems of the world today is plastic waste as well as ozone layer depletion due to evolving problem of air pollution. The improper disposal and utilization of plastic waste led to pollution that affects the environmental ecosystem. The prototype aims to help in reducing the said problems. This paper focuses on the implementation of cold plasma pyrolysis, a method where plastic wastes are trapped inside a closed area or chamber to impose chemical reaction (ionization) of gas to convert plastic wastes into a usable burning fuel. The prototype can process a maximum of 12 to 14 pieces of plastic bottles or 47.40 to 50.30 grams of plastic depending on the size. Cold plasma pyrolysis requires a minimum of 500 degrees Celsius for successful execution and best result. The process lasts up to 45 minutes. The estimated number of plastic bottles that can fit into the chamber is 12 to 14 pieces depending on the size which can range to 300mL to 500mL. The expected volume of fuel to be produced is between 10mL to 20 mL per cycle.
