A 2-D Envelope Combination Selective Affine Function-Based Behavioral Model for Concurrent Dual-Band Power Amplifiers

A novel 2-D envelope combination selective affine function-based (2D-ECSA) behavioral model is proposed for linearization of the concurrent dual-band power amplifiers (PAs). The core of the model is to use two independent envelope combination selective affine (ECSA) functions to replace the high-order terms composed of the input envelopes of the existing 2-D simplified memory polynomial (2D-SMP) model, respectively. The proposed 2D-ECSA model can be regarded as the superposition of two linear structures, which can further reduce the computational complexity and the actual hardware resource occupation of the 2D-SMP model. Experimental results fully demonstrate that compared with the original model, the proposed model can provide similar normalized mean square error (NMSE) and digital predistortion (DPD) performance when a PAis driven by two concurrent 20-MHz signals.
