Estimation of steady-state wind parameters on ship surface based on improved multi-anemometer weighted fusion method

Shipborne anemometer is usually used to measure wind parameters on ships. However, the freestream at infinity will be affected by the superstructure of the ship, and the measurement of wind parameters on the ship surface in steadystate are not accurate. In order to obtain the steady-state wind field information, the data simulated by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) are used as the research basis of wind field estimation technology in this paper. Aiming at the issues of the traditional four-anemometer fusion algorithm, an improved four-anemometer fusion algorithm is proposed. Firstly, the placement of multiple anemometers is determined based on the wind field data of CFD numerical simulation. Then, the useful wind direction range of each anemometer is determined by using the angle and speed bias. Next, the useful wind direction range is used to define the weight coefficient. Finally, the steady-state wind field information on the ship surface is estimated, and the performance of the improved algorithm is evaluated under ideal conditions. The results demonstrate that compared with the traditional four-anemometer fusion algorithm, the mean value of the absolute error of wind direction and the relative error of wind speed of the improved algorithm are reduced by 1.13° and 3.31% respectively. Compared with the traditional four-anemometer fusion algorithm, the improved four-anemometer fusion algorithm effectively improves the measurement accuracy of corrected wind parameters.
