Power System Stabilizer Applied to VSG-Based Power Flow Control of DG Systems in Low-Voltage Networks

This paper presents a power system stabilizer (PSS) technique to improve the dynamic performance of power flow control based on the virtual synchronous generator (VSG) approach for distributed generation (DG) systems connected to low voltage networks. The PSS structure is defined based on the dynamic model of the system’s power flow. The PSS technique performance is evaluated through simulation results addressing the grid-connected DG system’s operation with different grid impedance parameters. The results obtained reveal the effectiveness of the theoretical analysis and the proposed control structure.
