Optical Linear Operator with Optimal Fidelity

We introduce a novel coherent photonic crossbar (Xbar) architecture able to realize arbitrary linear transformations. Demarcating from the conventional Singular Value Decomposition based techniques, the proposed Xbar can yield unity fidelity, as well as high tolerance to phase mismatches.
