Demonstration of Multi-image Switchable Visual Displays Using Carpets

In this demo, we demonstrate the system which can present different images on the carpet depending on the viewpoint or the light source position by raising the fibers of existing carpets. There are some carpets in which shades of gray can be changed by changing the fiber's directions. By controlling the direction of the fibers of the carpet in different direction, we found that the shades of gray can be changed depending on the viewpoint position and the light source position. We demonstrate the images which switch between two images by changing the viewpoint or the light source position.
