Improving the Performance of Power Plants with Gas Turbine Units

Reducing the anthropogenic impact on the environment is an important direction in the development of the electric power complex. The problem of reducing harmful emissions was partially solved when the equipment was converted to natural gas combustion. The development of technology for the creation of synthesis gas, biogas, and industrial gases requires new approaches to trapping harmful emissions in exhaust gases. This article discusses the operation of the GE 6FA gas turbine unit. Carbon dioxide is currently the main pollutant that contributes to climate change. When studying various types of gas turbine fuel, the problem of selecting equipment for CO2 capture arises, it is necessary to determine the capacity of the capture unit. To determine the amount of emissions, a mathematical model of a gas turbine unit was created. The modeling of the operation of a gas turbine in different modes is given, while the quantitative assessment of emissions is given. Comparison of the composition of exhaust gases when using different types of fuel gases is carried out. A scheme for capturing carbon dioxide from flue gases with subsequent storage and use is proposed. This scheme minimizes the impact of gas turbine exhaust gases on the environment.
