Real-Time Carbon and Temperature Model of Converter Based on the Weights of Elemental Reaction Rate

Converter steelmaking is a complex process with multi-variable coupling. In order to improve the hit rate of the carbon and temperature test in the process of converter steelmaking, a calculation model with reaction rate weight was proposed based on the static model. According to the decompression and concentration of each element oxide in molten iron, the reaction rate weights of each element in different blowing periods were formulated. The reaction rate weights were used as the coefficients of oxygen partitioning. then The real-time carbon content and temperature of molten iron are calculated according to the amount of oxygen allocated of each element and the principle of thermal balance and material balance. In the case of carbon content allowed error of 0.15% and temperature allowed error of 12 degrees Celsius, it is considered as a hit. The simulation results of the reaction rate weight model show that the carbon content hit rate is 94.68%, the temperature hit rate is 92.77%, and both hit rates are 88.7%. The model can guide the actual production.
