Performance of Induction Motor using V/F Control Technique

In today's electric machine application scenario, induction motors are motors considered type of motors due to their strong and hard construction. Induction motors are used in many places like elevators, lathe machines, textiles, industries, hoists, etc. induction motors are mostly used because of their advantages like high efficiency, reliability, and desirable speed-torque characteristics. For constant speed and variable speed applications, the speed of the machine should be controlled and this plays a major role in the desired operation of the induction motor. There is a method called vector or field-oriented control introduced by Blaschke which gives the information about the simulation of speed control of induction motor by using the sine pulse implementation. The speed of the induction motor is controlled to control the frequency of the supply. The gate pulses are generated using the technique of pulse width modulation which is sinusoidal. IGBT is used for the switching purpose in the circuit. The equation Nr=(1-S)*Ns, where Ns= (120f)/p, shows that the motor speed is directly related to the frequency of the supply. A three-phase inverter with a sinusoidal pulse width modulation methodology is used to produce the V/F speed control method for open-loop and closed-loop systems, making the system simple.
