Engineering Design of Soft Gripper and Manufacturing by TPE Hollow Injection Molding

This study presented the injection molding optimization method through Moldex 3D simulation in manufacturing TPE soft grippers. Subsequently, quantify the performance of the soft gripper by using FEM simulation to validate the concept and the design structure of the gripper. TPE soft gripper manufacturing using TPE hollow injection molding was demonstrated, as were experimental results. According to the simulation results, a soft gripper is easy to manufacture. Furthermore, the results show that the FEM simulation and experimental results are remarkably similar.
