Determination of Initial Rotor Position of PMaSynRM Based on DC Current Injection

The paper proposes the rotor parking procedure upgraded with actual rotor parking position error detection suitable for permanent magnet assisted synchronous motor drives. The approach is based on the well know DC current based rotor parking, but takes into account an expected parking position error due to the confrontation of the synchronous and the reluctant torque during the parking. The paper shows that the difference between the actual rotor parking position, and referent zero position of stator current vector, can be predicted and compensated by taking into account DC current level and motor parameters, with core saturation included.
