A ReRAM-Based Nonvolatile Flip-Flop With Low Store Energy and High Restore Rate

Non-volatile flip-flops (NVFF) based on Resistive Random Access Memory (ReRAM) can achieve zero standby power consumption, greatly reducing leakage current and power consumption. The high store energy requirements, low restore rates, and increased power consumption due to unnecessary repeat writes during store time for ReRAM-based NVFF remain issues that need to be addressed. This paper proposes a NVFF with high restore rate and low power consumption based on a single ReRAM. The proposed NVFF reduces store energy by 75.7%, restore energy by 37.4% and delay time by 35.6%. This design significantly reduces the restore error rate by 9.6% and the circuit area by 59.4%.
