Electrodynamic Force and Mechanical Stress Analysis of Cable Brackets under Transient-Steady State Conditions

This study divides the different force forms of the power cable support into two kinds, the first is steady-state force determined by gravity, electrodynamic effect and construction under normal operation condition, and the second is transient force determined by electrodynamic force and gravity under short-circuit condition. Under the condition of short circuit fault, the force formulae of cable and support components are derived, the characteristics of the maximum transient force of cable support are analyzed, and the force attenuation trend of different phases of cable support and the variation law of maximum force value and initial angle are revealed. On the basis of the above analysis, an 110kV adjustable cable support is designed and the force characteristics are simulated. The results show that the transient mechanical stress is about 2 times of the one under three-phase short-circuit fault with 15 times of steady-state current, the deformation increases by about 50% with a short applied time.
