Design and Optimization of an Inline Threaded Rear Wheel Hub for FSC Racing Cars

In this paper, to address the problems of inefficiency when dismantling the half-shaft and affecting the stability of the rear suspension of FSC racing cars, the inner cavity of the rear wheel hub is changed to a detachable type by using thread fit while ensuring the original function of the rear hub remains the same. The load values on the rear hub of the racing car under extreme working conditions are calculated, and the three-dimensional model is established by CATIA and the rear hub is analyzed and optimized by ANSYS finite element analysis software for static simulation. The analysis results show that the new rear hub meets the strength requirements and achieves a certain degree of light weight, which is of great significance to improve the performance and maintenance efficiency of the racing car.
