Design of an Individual Fingers Rehabilitation Device

Hand rehabilitation robots will have a future due to the increase in stroke patients yearly. The aim of this project is to reduce the cost and the size of the robot to help as many patients as possible. This paper discussed new mechanism that can drive the motion for individual finger. The CAD model of the proposed Hand Rehabilitation Device (HRD) is works to transfer the angular velocity of the motor into prismatic motion that follow the natural movement of the finger. The derived motion of the model was capture with a motion capture software to track the desired trajectories.
