Power Pad using New Rectangular Spiral Shape Design for Charging Electric Vehicles

Transmitting and receiving coils of various designs make up the power source of the wireless power transfer system for electric vehicles (EVs).In the present paper, the magnetic coupling between two windings of novel rectangular spiral shape design coupled according to the distance is examined in order to improve the wireless charging power Pad. Moreover, the proper and mutual induction parameters separating the transmitter and the receiver as well as a distribution of the magnetic field or induction are analyzed in 3D using ANSYS Maxwell software in order to predict an adequate shielding structure. The proposed design’s efficacy was proven by simulation results.
