PCB Integrated EMI Choke with Low Near Field Magnetic Emission

This paper presents a PCB integration method for an electromagnetic interference choke (EMIC) and investigates its near-field emission. A bifilar PCB-EMIC structure is proposed to achieve a planar choke with better performance for conducted EMI reduction and greatly reduced near-field emission. Three-dimensional finite-element (3D-FEM) models were developed and simulations were conducted to analyze and validate the proposed PCB-EMIC structure.
