FPGA Implementation of a Digital Watermarking System using dwt Transformation

In this work, a hardware implementation of an image watermarking technique is presented, the scheme is based on the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). The embedding process is made in the transform domain, using one-level DWT coefficients we insert the watermark image into the host image and we return to the spatial domain to transmit the data. In the detection stage we adopt a non-blind technique to extract the watermark from the DWT coefficients after one-level transform using the host image. A hardware co-design technique is developed, using FPGA, to accelerate image authentication. Comparing with other achievements, our proposed schemes shows some improvement in term of resources consumption. Several metrics were used to demonstrate the suggested architecture’s effectiveness in terms of visibility and robustness against various threats.
