Operation Simulation of Energy Storage Providing Flexibility under Market Conditions

With the construction of power system with high penetration of renewable energy and the application of energy storage technology, building a capacity market to meet the adequacy of power capacity has received increasing attention. In this paper, a capacity market operation mechanism with bi-level optimization of capacity market and spot market is proposed, and the market simulation operation results when energy storage costs and variable renewable energy (VRE) fluctuation change are given, which can provide suggestions for improving market operation efficiency.
