Optimal Operation of Coupled Power and Transportation System Based on Double-Objective Optimization

This paper proposes a double objective optimization method, integrating user equilibrium and system optimal solution in traffic assignment problem, to guide the operation of power distribution system with charging stations. This paper also investigates the change of weight between individual travel cost and cost of the whole system, and its impact on power system operation. The result shows that the user equilibrium is better to reduce the cost of generation, but leads to higher power loss. Since the interaction between power and transportation system is investigated in detail, this paper may give advice to system operators to predict generation plan according to traffic information, or adjust vehicle guidance strategy to satisfy specific requirement of PDN.
