Clamped Split Delta-Source Inverter:Principles and Modulation

Aiming at the problems of the traditional Δ-source inverter (DSI) of large voltage spike of the switch and poor output power quality under high gain, a voltage clamping cell is added on the basis of the split Δ-source inverter (SDSI), and a clamped split Δ-source inverter (CSDSI) is proposed. Its topology and working states are studied, its steady-state boost characteristics and control strategy are analyzed. The new topology has the advantages of adjusting the duty cycle and modulation factor in the same direction, which is helpful to improve the output power quality at high gain. And the new topology can greatly reduce the voltage spike on the switches. The results of MATLAB/Simulink software simulation and the prototype experiments verify the performance of the converter, and prove the feasibility of it.
