Performance Determination of Induction Machines Utilized in Renewable Energy

The induction machine can be used in renewable energy as a generator. The machine parameters and variables can be represented by equivalent circuit components. These components can be performed by measurements for accurate performance and efficiency determination. These measurements involve per phase supply voltage and current measuring from no load to full load. The no-load test is performed at variable supply voltage. The locked rotor test performs at variable supply frequency. In the present method, the air-gap magnetizing voltage, the machine power factor, the stator, and rotor iron core, and stray loss resistances are accurately determined to achieve excellent accuracy of performance and efficiency calculation of induction machines using the proposed methodology. Also, in the proposed equivalent circuit the skin effect, temperature effect, skew effect, and friction and mechanical losses are considered. The Matlab simulation results are compared with experimental results showing close agreement between these results to validate the proposed equivalent circuit model.
