Comparison of compiler efficiency with SSE and AVX instructions

In this paper, we present a comparison between the execution times of code generated by three widely used compilers for C/C++ for specific class of problems connected to our research. We juxtapose the execution time of the software compiled by clang, gcc, and msvc on Windows OS and Ubuntu OS. The software has explicit use of the SSE4.1 and AVX2 instruction sets and calculates the weight spectrum of a linear [n,k] code over the finite field GF(2). The build platform used for the projects is CMake which allows us to easily control the compilation parameters. The conclusions are made based on efficiency of the compiler
