Monitoring and Control of Electrical Sub Station Using IoT and Cloud

The automation of power stations has become necessary for every electricity firm as the complexities of the distribution system have risen in order to boost profitability and increase the reliability of the electricity being supplied. The suggested project, which is IOT-based substation monitoring, would assist electricity companies in reducing the duration of intensity incursions by assuring that local-substation failures are quickly identified and communicated to the appropriate departments through IoT. For storage and safety, the data that is collected will be sent to the cloud. The microcontroller will perform a duty as specified in conjunction with the sensors placed at the neighbouring substation. If electrical characteristics such as current and voltage are regularly assessed to their rated value, distribution and power transformers will be protected from burns caused by overloading, short circuit failure, voltage fluctuations, and surges. Under these situations, the entire unit is forced to close by the control area, transfers included, detecting it, and momentarily disconnecting the external power source. The substation is smarter due to the Internet of Things since it can transmit and receive signals and data. This frees up time and allows the substation to cut labour costs. The sub-observational stations and operational efficacy will undoubtedly increase in this way.
