Mobile App Development for Wireless Monitoring and Configuration of Sensors using ESP8266

Internet of Things (IOT) technology allows us to connect devices with a group of embedded sensors and be identified anywhere in the world due to their internet connection and their monitoring through digital platforms. It is estimated to have a total of 64 billion IOT devices connected by 2025, so the need of developing new digital tools for their monitoring increases. In this study, a mobile application was developed for wireless monitoring and set points of a three fixed sensors network with the option for the integration, configuration, calibration and monitoring of up to three new analog sensors to the network. PIC18F45K22 was used for the sensor network and internet connection was established using Node MCU ESP8266. The study was carried out with a quantitative approach using an incremental software methodology, carrying out tests in each increment until the final product was obtained, in which wireless monitoring and configuration of set points of the three fixed sensors and the addition, configuration and calibration of three new analog sensors was achieved, this with the purpose of being able to integrate and calibrate any new analog sensor that has not been previously configured and calibrated from the app without having to add new programming to the microcontroller.
