A Family of Novel Single-Phase Three-Level PFC Based on Switch-Capacitor Cell

In this paper, a family of novel single-phase three-level PFC based on switch-capacitor cell are proposed. The proposed topologies have the characteristics of high power factor, low voltage stresses, and low power losses. Firstly, the derivation process of the novel PFC topologies is introduced in detail, and one of the proposed topologies is taken as an example to illustrate the operation principle. Secondly, the performance of the proposed topologies is analyzed. Then the modulation strategy based on capacitor voltage balance is designed for the proposed topologies. Finally, an experimental prototype of rated output of 1kW/400V was built to verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis.
