Monte Carlo Simulation of Electron Beam Irradiation of “Lightning and Ice Protection Composite Insulators”

In this study, Monte Carlo simulation of the electron beam irradiation process of composite insulators is used to simulate energy deposition and backscattered electrons (BEs) inside composite materials with complex geometries. This simulation provides a simulation idea for simulating the parameters and conditions set for the electron beam irradiation process of a complex material or device. The simulation simplifies the shape model of the insulation, the physical model of electron transport in solids combines the Mott cross section for electron elastic scattering and the software integrated dielectric function method for electron inelastic scattering, and presents the irradiated particle statistics in the form of a spectrogram, which, according to comparative and theoretical analysis, is more suitable for the irradiation treatment of insulators at 4000–5000 keV.
