The study of fire spread trend in cable tunnels with different firewall spacing settings

In recent years, frequent cable fire accidents have seriously affected the safe operation of power grid. Taking separate fire prevention measures for the key positions of the cable tunnel fire can play an important role, and it is advisable to appropriately shorten the seperation interval between two successive firewalls. Based on the common underground cable tunnel design and cable arrangement scheme, a fire simulation model of the underground cable tunnel was established, and the fire spread trend, temperature field and the temporal and spatial distribution of generated gas were studied under the installation of different firewall separation distances. From the analysis of the simulation results, it can be seen that the setting method with a short firewall interval is better than that with a long firewall interval. The method can effectively block the spread of the fire, reduce the temperature of the external area, avoid the spread of the fire, and reduce the disaster area of the fire. It also can significantly reduce the content of harmful gas generated outside firewalls and avoid the spread of the toxic gas. These conclusions provide valuable reference for fire prevention and post-disaster treatment.
