BOPPPS-based online and offline blended teaching mode in computer basic course

The worldwide pandemic of COVID-19 facilitates the widespread use of online and offline blended teaching mode. This mode could not only break through temporal and spatial limitations of traditional classroom teaching mode, but encourage students to avail themselves of the full range of the fragmented time as well. Computer basic course as one of general education curriculum has taken the lead in applying this mode in most institution of higher education. As a fashionable teaching mode, this mode suffers lacking focal points of knowledge as well as systematically theoretical basis. To circumvent its drawbacks and enrich its theoretical connotation, in this paper, we take computer basic course of a medical college as the research subject to conduct an experiment by introducing the BOPPPS teaching system into online and offline blended teaching mode. Three measurements including questionnaires, interviews and the final grades are used to compare and analyze the teaching effect of the blended teaching model. The results showed that for the computer basic course, the blended teaching model supported by online learning platform under the BOPPPS teaching system can effectively promote teaching quality, comprehensively improving students' knowledge and skills.
