An Indoor Device-Free Localization Technique Using Multipath Wireless Channel Characteristics

In our previous study, we developed a multipath RTI (Radio Tomographic Imaging) as a high-precision passive indoor positioning method for various applications for smart homes. This method utilizes a millimeter-wave radio system, which has an excellent resolution in delay and angular domains. It treats multipath components separately and uses them as virtual nodes. That can significantly reduce the number of sensor nodes and achieve more accurate positioning than conventional methods. In this paper, we evaluated the localization performance of multiple objects in the target area from the images generated by the multipath RTI.
