Research on the development path of new power system based on SWOT-PEST analysis

Building a new type of safe, clean, low-carbon, and efficient power system is a necessary way to realize energy transformation. Under the goal of “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”, China's energy sector is showing the explosive growth of new energy and large-scale grid connection, and the traditional power system based on fossil energy is changing to a new power system based on new energy. This thesis adopts the SWOT-PEST model to analyze the advantages, disadvantages, opportunities and threats of new power system construction in four dimensions: political, economic, social and technological. The research shows that the advantages and opportunities of building new power systems are outstanding, and while using the advantages and seizing the opportunities, the dilemmas and threats encountered are focused on and solved. On this basis, the phased implementation path of building a new type of power system is proposed from the aspects of power supply side, grid side, load side and institutional mechanism.
