H2020 OSMOSE PROJECT: Final results of the experimentation phase of industrial Demand Response (DR)

In the future of ancillary services for the HV grid Demand Response (DR) could play an important role to ensure grid stability. In a particular use case of the Italian Demo of the H2020 project "Optimal System-Mix Of flexibility Solutions for European electricity" (OSMOSE) congestion resolution service and Automatic Voltage Control (AVC) service have been tested from five large industrial loads. Upgrade activities and tests showed how challenging can be to extract flexibility, especially for faster services. The main result of more than three hundred hours of tests is that it seems reasonable to expect the provision of slower services, as congestion management, which could be even further improved by new industrial technologies
