Comparison of Different Formulations for The Dual-Phase-Lag Heat Conduction Model

The heat transfer model based on the dual phase lag concept constitutes an attractive alternative to the classic Fourier theory allowing taking into account certain microscopic effects in a macroscopic model. However, the dual phase lag model is rarely employed in its general form and the resulting differential equation describing heat transfer is obtained using the first-order approximation of the heat conduction model. The impact of this approximation is analysed in this paper in detail, where series of analyses in the frequency domain are carried out for a benchmark structure.
