Preparation and Performance Test of Magnetorheological Rubber Flexible Abrasive

This paper prepared the silicone polymer magnetorheological adhesive by using methyl cyclosiloxane and methyl phenyl cyclosiloxane as main materials and end-capping agents and white carbon black as auxiliary materials. Then, carbonyl iron powder (CIP) and SiC abrasive particles with different content respectively were added to the adhesive to prepare MRGS and MRGS flexible abrasives with various components. Their finishing mechanism was analyzed, and their rheological properties were tested by MCR-301. The following conclusions could be drawn: (1) For MRGS with the same composition, the greater the magnetic flux density is, the greater the initial viscosity and shear stress will be. (2) The higher the content of carbonyl iron powder in MRGS is, the greater the initial viscosity and shear stress will be.
