VRFT for Current-Mode Buck Converter with Anti-Windup Compensation

In this paper, the way to apply the Virtual Reference Feedback Tuning (VRFT) method to a buck converter for voltage regulation controlled by a current-mode PI controller including anti-windup compensation is introduced. By applying VRFT including anti-windup compensation, a faster response was obtained without manual fine-tuning compared to the pole assignment method. Through the experiments, it has been found that it is effective to calculate control parameters by VRFT including anti-windup compensation, which will reduce the time and effort of manual tuning, especially in production.
