Design of Power Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation for Aircraft Brushless Wound-Rotor Synchronous Motor

The brushless wound-rotor synchronous motor (WRSM) is a candidate for aircraft integrated starter/generator. To test the drive controller for WRSM, a power hardware-in-the-loop (PHIL) simulation system is designed in this paper. The complicated model of the two-stage structure is well presented and optimized for real-time implementation. The three-phase voltage source inverter is used as a power amplifier to fulfill the power stage emulation. Experiments have been carried out to validate the PHIL system.
