Triple-Phase Shift Power-Level Controller (TPSPC) For Single-Phase Dual Active Bridge (DAB) DC/DC Converter

This paper proposes a triple-phase shift power-level controller (TPSPC) for zero reactive power generation by fundamental components in a single-phase dual active bridge (DAB) DC/DC converter. The phase shift between two H-bridges and the inner phase shift of individual bridges were regulated to eliminate the converter reactive power which naturally leads to a reduced inductor current in all load conditions. The proposed TPSPC independently manipulates each phase shift of the converter, which results in a better performance as compared to dual-phase shift power-level controllers. The developed control approach can be applied to a wide range of DAB applications, such as hybrid electric cars, aerospace applications, and the asynchronous interconnection of micro-grids, etc.
