Review of MPPT Methods for LLC Converters in Photovoltaic Applications

This paper presents a comprehensive review of the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) methods used in solar applications based on LLC resonant converters. With the increasing demand for solar-based technologies, an MPPT Algorithm is very essential in order to harness maximum energy from solar panels. Different approaches for harvesting maximum power from photovoltaic (PV) connected LLC architectures are investigated in the literature. In this paper, we will present an overall review of these methodologies by categorizing them according to the MPPT approach. Finally, a summary of these control methods with merits, demerits, and future research directions is presented.
