A novel Approach to measure and model Plasma Noise in Avalanche Diodes

High voltage Zener diodes showing an avalanche breakdown suffer from a statistical random noise effect. This paper describes a new method to measure this effect on a state-of-the-art automotive technology with highest accuracy. Furthermore, a simulation model has been developed reflecting this behavior and showing its impact on circuit performance.
