Abstract:
This paper presents a wireless system for charging the cardiac pacemaker (2.8V -2AH) Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery. The proposed system relies on printed transmitter coil (Tx) and receiver coil (Rx) at operating frequency 13.56MHz which adopt the frequency in Industrial Science Medical (ISM) band. The theoretical analysis, simulation by Ansys software, and experimental measurements were conducted to verify the validity of the system. The results reveal the ability of the proposed wireless system to transfer the required power to recharge the pacemaker battery while satisfying the specific absorption ratio (SAR) assigned by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
