Semiconductor nanolasers

We describe recent progress on semiconductor nanolasers. Electrically-injected photonic crystal lasers achieve ultralow-threshold current. New cavity designs enable the localization of photons below the diffraction limit, with prospects for squeezing of intensity noise. Finally, by exploiting a Fano resonance, narrow-linewidth operation can be achieved.
