Analysis of Space Shift Keying Modulation over F Turbulence Channel Model in FSO Communication

In this paper, we have analyzed the performance of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) Space Shift Keying (SSK) modulation over the newly proposed atmosphere turbulence model Fisher-Snedecor (F) distribution with pointing error. The moment generating function (MGF) of channel gain difference is derived for F distribution with pointing error to obtain the average bit error rate (ABER). Results show that diversity gain remains constant irrespective of atmospheric turbulence (AT) and pointing errors, and it varies when we vary the number of receivers. It is also analyzed that when we increase the number of receivers, the system performance improves the ABER. Moreover, we compare the SSK modulation with PPM and PAM modulation schemes for F distribution and we also compare the F distribution with Gamma-Gamma distribution for SSK modulation scheme.
