Comparative Study on Iron Loss and Motor Performance of annealed and unannealed Amorphous Magnetic Material based Permanent Magnet Motor

In this paper, iron loss, back EMF, electromagnetic torque, and motor efficiency of unannealed amorphous magnetic material (UAMM) and annealed amorphous magnetic material (AAMM) based interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) are compared and evaluated. Firstly, magnetic properties of strips and wire-cutting cores of UAMM, annealed amorphous magnetic material (AAMM) and non-oriented silicon steel (NOSS) were measured, compared and evaluated. And then, IPMSMs using stator core of UAMM, AAMM and NOSS were numerical calculated and experimental tested respectively. The experimental results exhibit that IPMSM using stator core of UAMM at rated working point can offer approximately 1.17% and 2.09% higher efficiency compared with using stator core of AAMM and NOSS, respectively.
