Finite element analysis of stress at weld in hydrogen production reactor under thermal-mechanical-chemical coupling

The service environment of the hydrogen production reactor is extremely harsh, and the performance decline would occur in the weld area of the reactor under the long-period and complex action of high temperature, high pressure, and expose to hydrogen atmosphere, which would seriously affect the reliability of the reactor. The thermal-mechanical coupling simulation of the weld of the hydrogen production reactor was carried out based on finite element software, and the hydrogen content of each part of the weld was calculated according to the results of the hydrogen concentration field. The material properties after hydrogen permeation are obtained by JMatPro software, which can be used in multi-field coupling analysis. The finite element model of weld under the action of thermal-mechanical-chemical coupling is established, and the stress change law of welding zone with temperature, pressure and hydrogen concentration in high temperature, high pressure and hydrogen environment were analyzed, which provides a reference basis for the study of weld performance decline under long-term extreme service conditions.
