Research on the mechanism design of spoiler deflected upward and downward for civil aircraft

The design of civil aircraft lift device is related to the safety and flight performance of aircraft during takeoff and landing, and the small change of its aerodynamic performance will directly affect the manufacturing and operation cost of the entire aircraft. Therefore, simple and efficient lifting device has become a trend, in which the spoiler deflected upward and downward has become a new improved design technology of traditional lift device. Because the outer flap moves along the wing span when it is deflecting downward, it is difficult to design spoiler deflected upward and downward. In order to solve this problem, a design method is proposed to determine the rotating axis of the spoiler and realize the common downward deflection function of the spoiler/flap. The feasibility and correctness of the method are verified by kinematic simulation. The simulation results show that this method can theoretically solve the rotation axis of the spoiler. At the same time, the outboard spoiler can cooperate with the outboard flap at various angles to reduce the slot clearance and improve the aerodynamic performance.
