Analysis of the elastic vibration characteristics of ship-to-air missiles

Due to the relatively large length-diameter ratio of the ship-to-air missiles, the elastic vibration characteristics of the ship-to-air missiles are more significant. In order to consider the influence of elastic vibration in the design of the ship-to-air missiles’ control system, it is necessary to analyze the elastic vibration characteristics of the ship-to-air missiles. Firstly, the ship-to-air missile was assumed to be a uniform Euler beam, then the lateral vibration equation of the ship-to-air missile considering the thrust effect was established, and the solution of vibration mode function was derived. Finally, the influence of thrust and length-diameter ratio on the elastic vibration of ship-to-air missiles were simulated and analyzed by solving the vibration mode function. The simulation results show that when the ship-to-air missiles’ thrust reaches the critical buckling thrust, the missile motion will diverge, and the critical buckling thrust corresponding to the natural frequency of the first-order mode shape is the largest; when the length-diameter ratio of ship-to-air missile is greater than 15 and continues to increase, the critical buckling thrust will continue to decrease, and the elastic vibration will become more and more obvious.
