Multiobjective Optimization of a transportation problem in a closed loop supply chain: a case study

In this paper, we study two distribution processes: a distribution network that ensures the delivery of products in direct shipment, the second circuit is a recycling network dedicated to the collection of waste. Both companies adopt the same fleet of vehicles from a company providing logistics and transport services. The originality of this work is to propose a model that combines the transport of the two networks studied to take advantage of the empty returns. We have developed a mathematical model for the optimal allocation of trucks for the two networks in a closed-loop logistics chain that simultaneously optimizes the transport cost and CO
2
emissions using the LP-metric method. The objective of this study is to determine the optimal vehicle allocation in the distribution networks that minimizes truck utilization taking into account the different financial and environmental constraints.
