Short-Term Optimal Dispatching Model of Pumped-Storage Power Stations

The pumped-storage power station plays a very important role in promoting the optimal allocation of power generation resources and maintaining the safe and stable operation of the power grid. In order to formulate a reasonable scheduling strategy for pumped-storage power stations to maximize profits, this study proposes a short-term optimal dispatching model of pumped-storage power stations. The model takes into account the nonlinear hydropower conversion relationship, the characteristics of the energy storage power station unit, the minimum on-off time, storage capacity and other factors. It is converted into a mixed-integer linear programming problem through piecewise linearization, and uses the Lagrangean relaxation algorithm and adaptive differential evolution algorithm to optimize and solve the model respectively. Taking a certain area of GanSu Province in China as an example, the proposed model increases the profit by 4.874% compared with the experience scheduling time period. The research results can support the operation and optimization of diversified clean energy complementary control systems.
