Data Logger System of Hybrid Renewable Energy System at Home-Scale

Utilization of new and renewable energy (NRE) has been utilized in several sectors, one of which is in the residential sector. Utilization of NRE generator can be done in a Hybrid Renewable Energy System (HRES) by combining one generator with another, one of which is Solar Photovoltaic (Solar PV) system and wind power generation. The use of home-scale NRE power plants need to be supported by a generator data monitoring system to determine the generated capacity and be analyzed as a comparison with house load consumption to be more effective. This study aims to create a data logger system for monitoring home-scale HRES (wind turbine and Solar PV). Arduino Mega R3 is used as a microcontroller so that the data obtained by the sensor can be stored. The data logger system test records data in the form of energy generated by solar power plants in the morning, afternoon, evening, solar power plants energy in one day, Solar PV power, wind power generation in windy conditions, and wind turbine power. The voltage sensor is still within its tolerance value with an error of 0.198 % for the wind turbine voltage sensor and 0.655 % for the Solar PV voltage sensor. The current sensor in wind turbine has an error of 3.125%, and in solar PV it is 2.233%. The PZEM-004T module has an error value of 0.5% compared to testing using a multimeter. The system has successfully recorded data from Solar PV and wind turbine. The results can be processed into graphic form for monitoring. The utilization of home-scale HRES can be utilized because it sees the potential of Solar PV performance in Indonesia and wind turbine with a record that the height of wind turbine is maximized to avoid turbulence. Therefore, the data logger system can be used to determine the energy performance produced by home-scale HRES in a sustainable manner.
