An Efficient 3D Radar Imaging Algorithm Based on FISTA

Existing 3D millimeter-wave (MMW) imaging algorithms are limited to the Nyquist sampling criterion so obtaining high-resolution 3D echo data requires a high cost. The conventional compressed sensing (CS) method requires a large-scale measurement matrix and immense computation. To overcome these problems, we propose an efficient 3D radar imaging algorithm based on the fast iterative shrinkage-thresholding algorithm (FISTA). The range-azimuth decoupling method is adopted to simply 3D reconstruction. The Single-Frequency Holographic Imaging algorithm is embedded into the iteration steps of FISTA, which effectively avoids large-scale matrix operations. Experimental results have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed SFH-FISTA in comparison with traditional 3D MMW imaging algorithms.
